In their first week of employment, new employees are invited to complete an equity census. Additionally, the equity census is circulated to existing employees every 5 years. Employees are asked to participate in both mandatory and highly recommended training modules, depending on the nature of your role. These include:
Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA) Online Training (Mandatory)
This online course introduces all employees at UWinnipeg to the First Standard – Customer Service. Within the three modules, each 10 minutes in length, employees will have an opportunity to learn about specific types of barriers experienced by persons with disabilities and what they can do to facilitate removal of barriers toward greater accessibility, as well as how to foster respectful communication and interaction. This online course is available ; new employees receive an email directing them to the course.
Sexual Violence Prevention Policy (SVPP) Training (Mandatory)
UWinnipeg is committed to creating a safe and healthy environment for all members of its community. To do this, the University is creating awareness and educating the UWinnipeg Community, including Staff and Faculty on the Sexual Violence Prevention Policy and Responding to Disclosures. SVPP training is available here.
Information Security Awareness (Highly Recommended)
Available in UWinnipeg’s learning management system (LMS) Nexus. To use your regular University username and password. These are the same credentials used to log on to your computer and the UWinnipeg network.

Long-term parking (September 1 to – August 31) is available to University of Winnipeg faculty, staff, and students upon request. To request a space, one must complete and sign a parking application form each year.
