Many professional programs require the completion of some study before you apply for admission. UWinnipeg provides you with the preparatory courses needed to fulfil the admission requirements at other Canadian universities.
Pre-Chiropractic
Â鶹´«Ã½ is an excellent place to fulfil the entrance requirements for the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and other chiropractic schools. In order to apply to a Chiropractic school, you first need to complete a three-year degree (90 credit hours) - either a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts. Pre-Dental Hygiene
Dental hygienists are oral health professionals whose main focus is health promotion and disease prevention. They work in dental offices, hospitals, clinics, government health departments, schools and in industry. In Pre-Dental Hygiene studies here, you’ll complete one year (30 credit hours) of coursework to fulfil the entrance requirements for dental hygiene at the University of Manitoba or other dental hygiene programs.

Pre-Dentistry
Dentists treat the diseases and conditions that affect the mouth, jaws, teeth, and supporting tissues. In the Pre-Dentistry program at Â鶹´«Ã½, you will complete two years of study (60 credit hours) to fulfil the entrance requirements for dentistry at the University of Manitoba or other universities across Canada.
Pre-Engineering
Engineering is the application of math and science for purposes such as construction, propulsion, communication, or manufacture. Â鶹´«Ã½ is an excellent place to fulfill the admission requirements for the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Campus College of Science and Engineering, or other engineering programs. This is an exciting possibility for students who want to attend one of the top engineering schools in North America.

Pre-Law
Students wishing to study law require at least two years of study (60 credit hours). Â鶹´«Ã½ is an excellent place to complete your first two years of Pre-Law before applying to the Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba. No specific courses are required for admission to Law, so you have flexibility to choose which courses you want to take to get the best results.
Pre-Health Sciences Technology
This pre-professional program prepares you to become a Medical Laboratory Technologist, Radiation Therapist, or Radiological (X-Ray) Technologist. To meet the entrance requirements for Medical Laboratory Sciences or Medical Radiological Technology at RRC Polytech, you must complete your first year of preparatory study (30 credit hours) in Pre-Health Sciences Technology at Â鶹´«Ã½.

Pre-Medicine
If you have the passion and determination to become a medical doctor, you can complete your first three years (90 credit hours) of pre-professional studies at Â鶹´«Ã½. Occupational Therapists specialize in using productive or creative activity to treat or rehabilitate physically or emotionally disabled individuals. In Pre-Occupational Therapy, you’ll complete a three-year (90 credit hour) degree, including specific courses; this will allow you to apply for entry to Occupational Therapy at the University of Manitoba.

Pre-Optometry
Optometrists treat conditions of the human eye and visual system. After three years of study at Â鶹´«Ã½, you’ll be eligible to apply to Optometry at the University of Waterloo. As a student in Pre-Optometry here, you’ll complete a Bachelor of Science, including specific courses, in order to meet the entrance requirements in Optometry at the University of Waterloo.
Pre-Pharmacy
Pharmacy is a rewarding profession in the healthcare system that involves working closely with doctors and patients. As a student in Pre-Pharmacy here, you’ll complete specific courses during your study at UWinnipeg, in order to meet the entrance requirements for Pharmacy at the University of Manitoba.

Physical Therapy (or physiotherapy) is a healthcare profession concerned with prevention, treatment and management of movement disorders arising from conditions and diseases. You’ll start by completing an undergraduate (bachelor's) degree, including specific courses, at UWinnipeg. Then you will apply for admission into the Master's of Physical Therapy program at the University of Manitoba.

Pre-Physician Assistant
A Physician Assistant is a healthcare professional who supports a physician. Activities may include carrying out physical exams, ordering and interpreting tests, diagnosing and treating illness, writing prescriptions, and providing counsel to patients. The PA is not an independent practitioner; he/she works under the direction of a supervising physician. You’ll start by completing a four-year or honours undergraduate (bachelor's) degree, including specific courses, at UWinnipeg. Then you will apply for admission into the Master of Physician Assistant Studies program at the University of Manitoba.

Pre-Radiation Therapy
As a student in Pre-Radiation Therapy here, you’ll complete specific courses during your first year of study (30 credit hours), in order to meet the entrance requirements to be considered for the joint program in Radiation Therapy with CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB) and UWinnipeg. This program leads to a Diploma in Radiation Therapy from CancerCare Manitoba and UWinnipeg, followed by a Bachelor of Science degree (4-year) from UWinnipeg. Completion of the program allows you to write CAMRT National certification exams to qualify for registry.

Pre-Respiratory Therapy
Respiratory Therapists assist physicians and treat respiratory disorders. Each respiratory therapy program has its own requirements.
